Looking back at my list

So just glancing back at my list, I notice there is alot of materialistic things on there, and not too much of spiritual growth or self actualizing goals. And I ask myself, "does that make me a materialistic person?" For those that know me, I would hope that you would answer that with a no! I answered that with a no, and remembered back when I was making the list, I knew it was going to be public, and I'm a very private person, So I skipped on some of the spiritual/self actualizing very personal goals mainly for that reason. trust me several crossed my mind, and will be accomplished even though they are not on my list. I may make a mini list in the near future, maybe not. So since that has been said, I know not everything on my list matters in the grand scheme of things, well in that case only a minute few matter when it comes to the big picture. But the whole purpose for goals is it have that sense of accomplishment in your life of things that matter to you, so there you have it. Will my life be complete if I don't accomplish the list? of course it will! Does everything on my list hold a dear meaning to me? no!, most of them do though, but less than a handful were "just because" I couldn't think of anything else at the time! And alot of the things are items that i've procrastinated on doing for a very long time. Why Am I writing this? well I figure no one is going to read this anyway, so why not!

More Goals Completed in the past two months...

Things done btwn July 1 and September 2...

55. carry my list of 101 things in my wallet
Done!
56. don't watch the next celebreality tv series that comes on Vh1 no matter what it is
So yes I am one of those that get sucked into the most ridiculous VH1 reality shows. yeah I know I waste an hour of my life, and i'm sure that it probably kills some brain cells so that's why I came up with this goal. The next show happened to be "Megan wants a millionaire", a chick that was on "rock of Love" got her own show. boy did this goal save tons of brain cells, because I'm sure I would have watched it and would probably become more stupid by the minute. And I think the show got cancelled, hmm,
69. Where a dress I have never worn, but already own, in public
I tend to buy cute dresses and never wear them. They hang in my closet forever. So that's how this goal originated! So I wore I dress out in public and can cross this off my list!
70. Make a functional scrapbook area
I'm a huge scrapbooker, and for those of you who do not know what that is, it's basically a glorified picture album. So I'm all the time having to pull out supplies from different places and was finally able to create my own scrapbook space, it's small, but functional.

94.buy a new comforter
I've had the same comforter for a few years, and it's been time for a new one. I've been looking for one forever, but could never find the "right" one, I finally found it!
99.re-organize my doll collection
so what if I'm 30 and still collect dolls?! nothing wrong with doing something that you enjoy no matter how old you are! They just needed some re-arranging and some TLC. done!

first set of goals

So I started this Journey on July 1 2009, and it is now September 2, 2009. I have already accomplished a handful of things. Some things I knew that I would accomplish them, but others not so much, so let's see what I can cross off my list....
2. Go para sailing
This is something that I've wanted to do forever and finally did it at Hilton head Island. It was very beautiful and peaceful 800 feet up in the sky floating over shark infested waters only attached by a metal hook that was hooked onto a bar! with all paranoia set aside, I loved it and would definitely do it again, even if I have to go alone again!

9. See No Doubt perform live
I already had tickets to the concert in Indy before I made this list, so I knew I would achieve this goal, BUT I didn't know it would be one of the best nights of my life so far. My best friend and I have been "no doubters" since back in the day, 1995, So we were super excited that they were going on tour again, since it's been 5 years! Well we managed to work our way up to the front row of the pit and it was a most awesome concert, and what makes it even better is that during the encore Gwen came down to the front row, smiled at me and shook my hand. It was a great night and we met some really cool people as well.

10. Find at least 3 Garfield the Cat sculptures in Grant County
so on our trip to Indiana, we ventured out to Grant county where they have large Garfield sculptures scattered throughout the county, I think there is about 12 of them, but my goal was to find 3, and we did exactly that!, Thank Goodness for GPS on cell phones or we probably wouldn't have found that many!

18. Get season tickets to UT football
yay! the first game is September 5th and I'll so be there =)

24. Lay underneath a blanket of stars
During my trip to Hilton Head in July, My boyfriend and I walked to the beach and It was a clear beautiful night with tons of stars in the sky. Even with my VERY sunburned feet, I was able to enjoy this relaxing, romantic moment laying in the sand with no worries as I gaze upon the beautiful stars.

41. Buy new tires
So I desperately needed new tires. I had mud terrain tires on my 4x4 for the past 5 years, but since the majority of my driving is highway/city I decided to get all terrain tires, it was kinda depressing at first, but I know it's what is better for my vehicle

48. Write 101 goals in one setting
well that's self explanatory, it was kinda difficult at first, but then the goals kept flowing, I ended up with 109, but downsized =)

49. Turn 30
Another goal that I knew was going to happen. On August 24th, I started a new decade of my life! hopefully the first week of my 30's isn't a highlight of what is going to happen, a sprained ankle (which I've never had) and a very sore throat all in the same week, it can only get better! well it could get worse, but I'm going to think positive and be blessed for what I have.

The purpose of this blog

The Mission:Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days. The Criteria:Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
Why 1001 Days? Many people have created lists in the past - frequently simple goals such as New Year's resolutions. The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic. 1001 Days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organising and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.
Some common goal setting tips:1. Be decisive. Know exactly what you want, why you want it, and how you plan to achieve it. 2. Stay Focussed. Any goal requires sustained focus from beginning to end. Constantly evaluate your progress.3. Welcome Failure. Frequently, very little is learned from a venture that did not experience failure in some form. Failure presents the opportunity to learn and makes the success more worthy.4. Write down your goals. It clarifies your thinking and reinforces your commitment.5. Keep your goals in sight. Review them frequently, and ensure that they are always at the forefront of your thinking. (http://www.dayzeroproject.com/
